EOLE Wrist Watch

June 9, 2011

Wrist watches, an unwitting casualty of the cellphone revolution, have been struggling to stay relevant and exciting past their aesthetic and status value as people simply check their phones or computers for the time. This watch, by French designer Julien Moise, has a unique and interactive aspect that puts it above the rest of the watches out there: it uses a self contained wind-power generator to display the time. The digital display remains dark until the wearer blows on the propeller that rings the face of the watch, at which point the digital display shows the time for a brief moment. Sadly, the EOLE watch is still a concept, but here’s hoping this one becomes more than just a whisper. Watch the concept video here.
