Italian artist, Maurizio Savini has been working with pink chewing gum to create elaborate sculptures that include the life-size buffalo (pictured above), grizzly bear, and suited business man for the better part of ten years.
Maurizio enjoys working with chewing gum because he believes that it is a very versatile material, and takes on its own artistic capacity. His sculptures have been featured in exhibitions all over the world, and have asking prices that start at approximately $65,000. This steep fee could be due to the fact that Maurizio works with thousands of pieces of pre-chewed gum, using only a knife to sculpt. Although his masterpieces are a labor of love, the end result is aesthetically pleasing and unlike anything of its kind.
